1 Zakat Calculation
Zakat is a mandatory charity for Muslims who possess wealth above a certain limit for one full year. The standard rate for Zakat on wealth is 2.5%.
The Fast Division Rule
Shortcut: To find Zakat on any amount, simply divide the total value of your wealth by 40.
2 The Concept of Nisab
Nisab is the minimum amount of wealth a person must own before Zakat becomes mandatory. It is based on the prices of Gold and Silver:
Gold Nisab
(Approx. 87.48 grams)
Silver Nisab
(Approx. 612.36 grams)
3 Ushr (Agricultural Tax)
Ushr is Zakat paid on agricultural produce (crops). The rate depends on the source of water used for irrigation:
Natural Source
Irrigated by Rain, River, or Natural Springs (Free water).
Artificial Source
Irrigated by Tube-wells, Canals, or Purchased water (Costly water).
4 Inheritance (Wirasat) Basics
After a person passes away, their property is divided among the heirs. Here are the most fundamental shares tested in exams:

5 The Order of Distribution
Steps Before Heirs Get Anything
Funeral Expenses Costs for shroud and burial.
Debts (Qarz) Paying back any money owed to people or banks.
Wasiyat (Will) Up to 1/3 of the remaining wealth can be given as per a Will.
Distribution Divide what is left among the legal heirs.
